Saldivar, Erika -- Grade 1

Hello Room 302 Families!

Welcome to first grade at E.B. Scripps! My name is Erika Saldivar and I’m thrilled to be teaching your child this year. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to San Diego in 1994 to attend San Diego State University. Being a daughter of a teacher, I decided to pursue a teaching career and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

I began my teaching career in 2000 where I taught at Miramar Ranch Elementary School in Scripps Ranch. In 2003 I transferred to Torrey Pines Elementary in La Jolla where I taught 4th grade and most recently 2nd grade. I’m so happy to have landed myself back in Scripps Ranch where my career began! Over the years I’ve learned to be reflective, collaborative, and to refine my teaching practices. I strongly believe in differentiated instruction and lifting the ceiling for all my students to reach their full potential!

I live here in Scripps Ranch with my husband Christian and my children. Both of my kids currently attend E.B. Scripps! When I’m not teaching you can find me around the community cheering on my son’s baseball, flag football, and soccer teams as well as spending time at the Swim and Racquet Club. I enjoy traveling, reading, and being with friends and family.

I look forward to an amazing year where we will see our first graders begin to take risks, become more independent, and develop and grow friendships. Here’s to a wonderful year of working together in partnership.

Sincerely,

Erika Saldivar
